Call of Duty: Mobile doesn’t just shrink the franchise down to fit your phone – it dropkicks it onto your screen with enough explosions, loadout options, and adrenaline to make your battery beg for mercy.

Packed with legendary maps like Nuketown and Shipment, plus staple multiplayer modes from the franchise’s greatest hits, COD Mobile feels like a nostalgic mixtape that still rips. One moment I’m spawn-trapping on Raid, the next I’m crawling through grass with a sniper in Battle Royale, praying some lunatic in a helicopter doesn’t spot me first.

Surprisingly, it all works. Sort of. Touchscreen controls are about as elegant as trying to play darts with oven mitts on, but the UI does what it can. Sure, the screen’s got more buttons than a fighter jet, but once muscle memory kicks in, things click. And while there’s no official controller support (why?), the fluidity of gunplay and aiming exceeded my low expectations. Throwing grenades and crouch-sliding might require contortionist fingers, but racking up kills? Still deeply satisfying.

The Battle Royale mode? It’s a miniature war zone. Vehicles, class perks, solo or squad options – it’s like Blackout had a baby with Fortnite and left it on your phone. I’ve parachuted, looted, and crashed helicopters enough times to confirm: this mode alone is worth the download.

Microtransactions do lurk behind every flashy skin, but COD Mobile’s free path doles out enough gear and unlocks to keep things rewarding. You can grind without feeling punished.

Verdict: Call of Duty: Mobile is the best the series has ever felt on a handheld. Janky controls aside, it’s still pure, fast, frantic COD chaos — just scaled down, not watered down.
