Driving a hotdog truck with a flamethrower strapped to the roof should be a guaranteed recipe for chaos. In Crash of Cars, it almost is.

This real-time multiplayer arena game arms you with one simple goal: collect as many floating crowns as possible before some jerk in a pepperoni-skinned camper van blows you to smithereens. You’ll zip through eight different maps, hoovering up power-ups like homing missiles, cannons, and trebuchets (yes, a medieval catapult on a Mini), all while dodging the blast radius of other vehicular maniacs. Think Slither.io mashed into a Twisted Metal lunchbox, then polished off with a bit of Crossy Road coin grind.

At its best, Crash of Cars hits a wacky sweet spot. You might surf around in a pirate ship on wheels, dodging mines, picking off unsuspecting targets, and soaking up crowns like a greedy little loot hoover. There’s a satisfying rhythm when the action gets messy: firefights break out in crowded corners, rockets scream overhead, and your leaderboard score climbs alongside your rising blood pressure.

But for a game about weaponized demolition derbies, the first thing you notice is how… slow it feels.

Your car drives itself forward at a fixed, leisurely pace. There’s no accelerator, no speed boost, just left and right turns. Even with a rocket launcher equipped, it feels less Mad Max and more “Sunday drive with murder.” Early on, especially before unlocking the faster cars, the gameplay leans dangerously close to mellow , a strange tone for a game that lets you drive a dragon with a flamethrower.

To its credit, Crash of Cars is packed with content: 70+ unlockable vehicles, dozens of absurd skins (the aforementioned hotdog, a literal toaster), and 16 goofy weapons to deploy. There’s even a single-player mode and a “Play with Friends” option, which is the best way to experience its looser moments of absurdity. The problem is, those moments don’t come frequently enough without a fair bit of grinding and patience.

Crash of Cars has all the ingredients for arcade-style multiplayer madness , weird cars, fun weapons, and a solid “steal-the-loot” hook , but its slow pace and undercooked chaos keep it from ever going full tilt. It’s a bite-sized riot that never quite hits top speed.
