Launching into Dragon Ball Legends feels like hopping into a Hyperbolic Time Chamber built by gacha devs and anime gods. One second, you’re summoning Goku in his Super Saiyan God form. The next, you’re watching Shallot, a brand-new, Toriyama-designed Saiyan, kick Frieza into orbit with a card-powered combo that somehow feels more dramatic than half the actual anime.

This is Dragon Ball at full tilt. Legends nails the spectacle of beam clashes, planet-shattering punches, and those iconic, ten-second screams of power-up glory, all condensed into flashy, tap-and-swipe mobile fights. You control a squad of your favorite heroes (or villains, we don’t judge) in 1v1 real-time showdowns that blend twitchy reflexes with smart card selection. Tap a punch card here, swipe to dodge there, charge ki, and hit Rising Rush to vaporize your enemy with a team attack that looks like it was ripped straight from Toonami at 5PM in 2003.

Legends doesn’t just coast on nostalgia, either. The original story, which introduces amnesiac Saiyan Shallot, is pure Dragon Ball nonsense, in the best way. Multiverse tournaments? Time travel chaos? Vegeta being Vegeta? Check, check, and smirk-check. It’s not deep, but it is fun, and the fully voiced cutscenes help it feel legit.

With over 400 characters and a rarity system that ranges from humble Heroes to Ultra-tier gods, the team-building grind is real. But to its credit, Legends remains surprisingly free-to-play friendly. You can spend money, but with enough patience and strategy, you’ll still pull bangers and slap together a solid squad. Just don’t expect to win every PvP match against whales with rainbow-starred Brolys.

The visuals pop off the screen, every transformation, clash, and special attack is lovingly animated. Combine that with a crunchy soundscape and the original anime cast screaming in your ear, and you’ve got a game that sounds like Dragon Ball, looks like Dragon Ball, and more importantly, feels like Dragon Ball.
