Endless Nightmare 3

Endless Nightmare 3: Shrine kicks open the sarcophagus lid on a new chapter of mobile horror, this time swapping hospitals for hieroglyphs. You play as Carlos Gonzales, ICPO agent, puzzle solver, and the kind of guy who brings a tech glove to a mummy fight, on a mission to stop the criminal syndicate Black Python from stealing the fabled Heart of Pharaoh. Naturally, that means punching monsters and shooting ancient gods in the face.

This third entry ditches creaking floorboards for dusty crypts, but the scares are more tactical than terrifying. Shrine is less about creeping dread and more about carefully lining up a headshot before your last bullet runs dry. The maze-like pyramid is a puzzle box of locked doors, hidden levers, and crumbling walls. It’s all very Indiana Jones, if Indy had to watch an ad to reload his revolver.

Combat is serviceable, early on, you’re whacking skeletons with your upgradable sci-fi glove like a budget Doomguy. Then comes the pistol, then the ammo anxiety, then the microtransaction wall. Shrine doesn’t force you to pay, but it sure nudges you toward the gift shop.

That said, the game’s chunky 3D visuals, haunting soundtrack, and massive map do a lot of heavy lifting. It’s fun, in a B-movie, “please don’t touch me, Anubis” kind of way. Just don’t expect survival, or satisfaction, to come cheap.

Endless Nightmare 3’s pyramid is full of traps, but the biggest one might be the in-game store.
