Sometimes a game hits you with such a clear vision of fun that you forget it’s running on a touchscreen. Eternium is that game. It’s an indie-developed love letter to classic ARPGs, wrapped in mobile-first controls that somehow make you feel more like a mage than any console ever has.

The hook is instant: instead of fiddling with virtual joysticks, you tap to move, tap to attack, and swipe to cast spells. Want to launch a meteor? Draw a quick V. Freeze a mob? Backwards C. It’s elegant, intuitive, and surprisingly addictive, like scribbling your way through a dungeon with magical crayons.

You’ll choose between three classes, mage, warrior, or bounty hunter, and fight your way through forests, dungeons, snowy peaks, and eventually… the moon. (Yes, the actual moon.) The combat is fast, flashy, and tuned just right: satisfying damage numbers, crunchy animations, and enemies that beg to be kited into a well-placed vortex.

And the best part? Eternium doesn’t nickel-and-dime you. There’s no energy system, and gems rain from the sky like candy. Sure, you’ll need to wait to craft or upgrade unless you spend some, but nothing feels locked behind a wallet.

Once the story ends, Trials of Valor opens the door to infinite, randomized levels. And if that’s not enough, offline play means your journey doesn’t end when the signal drops.

Eternium may have launched years ago, but it’s aged beautifully, like an old sword that’s still sharp, still shining, and still ready to slay.
