Gangstar Vegas

Gangstar Vegas is an open-world crime game that lets you punch, shoot, steal, and explode your way to the top of the Vegas underworld, usually while sprinting into walls or flipping cars in mid-air.

You play as Jason Malone, an MMA fighter who accidentally wins a fight he was paid to lose. That mistake puts you on the mob’s hit list, kicks off a wild escape sequence, and lands you in the middle of a gang war. From there, it’s classic crime sandbox gameplay: story missions, side quests, carjackings, explosions, and a never-ending stream of chaos.

Vegas itself is massive by mobile standards, and the city is absolutely packed. You’ve got everything from bank heists and fight tournaments to alien invasions and zombie outbreaks. One minute you’re stealing a limo, the next you’re flying a plane through neon-lit checkpoints. And if you don’t feel like doing any of that, you can chill at a casino or just buy real estate to collect passive income.

The gunplay is basic: tap to aim, tap again to shoot. There’s a cover system too, but most shootouts end up as reload-fests behind a wall. On the other hand, driving feels a bit better, assuming the road doesn’t suddenly spawn a truck in front of you. It’s clunky fun, though: doing donuts in a stolen sports car while the cops and SWAT teams chase you down is peak Gangstar energy.

Unfortunately, controlling Jason feels like wrestling a shopping cart with a broken wheel. He gets stuck on walls, jumps when you don’t mean to, and runs like he’s trying not to spill a drink. That said, it’s all part of the game’s odd charm.

Monetization comes in the form of IAPs for cash, upgrades, and keys for loot crates. None are essential, but they’re there if you want to skip the grind. Luckily, the game is generous enough with drops and rewards to keep things moving.

Gangstar Vegas is far from perfect, but its sheer variety and absurdity make it a fun, guilty pleasure, especially if you miss the chaos of early GTA games and don’t mind the occasional faceplant into a brick wall.
