Hashiriya Drifter

If you’ve ever wanted to recreate the vibe of midnight touge runs with scraped bumpers and blown turbos, Hashiriya Drifter is the mobile drift sim for you. Inspired by Japan’s ‘80s–’90s underground racing scene, it strips away the fluff and lets you build, tune, and trash your car exactly how you want.

You start small, usually in a stock 180SX or GT86, and gradually rip everything apart. From bumpers to engines, suspension to roll cages, every part is swappable. And I mean every part. Want a fully gutted coupe with a 2JZ stuffed in? Go ahead. Prefer slammed ride height, ridiculous camber, and neon vinyls? The game says, “Sure, why not?”

Drifting itself takes practice. The physics are loose but satisfying, especially once you get a handle on throttle control and grip levels. There’s no clutch, but the handbrake mechanics reward proper timing. Once tuned right, the cars spit fire and glide through corners like they’re on rails, assuming you didn’t overdo the boost and end up in a ditch (been there).

Customization is where Hashiriya shines. Wheel fitment, tire width, fender swaps, boost tuning, even RPM limits, nothing’s off-limits. You can literally drop the car to the frame and adjust the stance until it barely scrapes over curbs. It’s a dream playground for fans of real JDM tuning culture.

Online, you can drift solo or battle others in 1v1 sessions and point-based tandem comps. There’s no shortage of players, 10 million and counting, and the game does a decent job of matching you with someone on your level. Just don’t expect polished lobbies or ranked ladders. This is more back-alley than Gran Turismo.

It’s not perfect. The UI’s clunky, early levels are slow, and some tracks feel like filler. But the core experience, building and mastering your car, is just fun. Pure, creative, unapologetic fun.

Hashiriya Drifter won’t hold your hand. But if you’re the kind of player who likes to wrench on builds, feather the throttle, and send it sideways at 8,000 RPM, this one’s got soul.
