Hero Hunters

Hero Hunters is what happens when a third-person shooter crashes into a hero collector and forgets to pump the brakes. It’s a fast-paced, cover-based, tag-team bullet-fest that lets you build a five-person squad of wild-eyed mercs, sci-fi soldiers, and one very angry guy with a minigun, then swap between them mid-battle like you’re juggling live grenades.

You start in a surprisingly robust solo campaign, getting a grip on how to duck, pop out, fire off abilities, and stay alive in a world where enemies never stop spawning. The cover mechanic is the real MVP here, stay exposed for more than a second, and your hero’s getting bodybagged. Master the rhythm, though, and you’ll find yourself switching heroes on the fly to pull off clutch heals, crowd-control chains, or just a big dumb rocket barrage.

Then there’s PvP, and while it’s absolute chaos, it’s fun chaos. You’ll run into matchmaking issues, sandbag teams, and the occasional Kurtz abuse (yes, he’s still busted), but when it clicks, PvP becomes a battlefield chess match with shotguns. Even with the flaws, connection drops, power spikes, weird bugs, it’s still the most exciting part of the package.

The hero roster is genuinely impressive, both in design and depth. Clyde’s Lone Outlaw skin? Top-tier. Bucket? Maybe don’t.

Hero Hunters doesn’t reinvent anything, but it mashes its inspirations together with style. Whether you’re chasing new heroes, grinding Gauntlet, or just trying to survive another Gorgon Raid (somehow still boring), there’s always one more match to run. And if you’re anything like me, you’ll be running them long past bedtime.
