Hollywood Crush is part match-3 puzzle game, part interactive drama, and part high-fashion dress-up simulator. And somehow, it manages to tie all three together with just enough sparkle and scandal to keep things interesting, especially if you secretly love the idea of being thrust into fame, fashion, and family betrayal.

We start off playing a struggling actress working as an extra on sets. But soon enough, our life flips upside down when we’re revealed to be the long-lost daughter of a recently deceased Hollywood star, Peter. From that point on, it’s all press coverage, designer clothes, and awkward half-sibling rivalries with our jealous sister, Rose. The plot’s not trying to be subtle, and that’s part of the fun.

The core gameplay is built around familiar match-3 mechanics. It’s easy to get into, and the puzzle levels are designed to reward consistent play without feeling too grindy. Progressing through them unlocks new outfits and story beats, so there’s always an incentive to keep matching tiles.

Where Hollywood Crush shines is in the sheer amount of customization. There are thousands of outfits to unlock, from casual jeans to high-end gowns, and you’ll need to pick the right one for different events, interviews, red carpets, or casual run-ins with love interests. It’s surprisingly satisfying to nail the perfect look.

Between levels, we’re treated to a soap-opera-style narrative that includes romantic choices, reputation management, and building your own film studio. There’s even a bit of base-building lite, where you decorate your Hollywood HQ.

The game monetizes via cosmetic purchases and likely incentivized ads, though you can make decent progress without spending if you’re patient.

My only gripe is that the drama can occasionally lean into cliché, and some dialogue feels a bit on-the-nose. But if you’re here for fashion, flair, and a bit of drama, it does its job well.

Hollywood Crush might not win any Oscars, but it’s an entertaining ride through stardom’s glitz and gossip, perfect for quick play sessions with just the right amount of chaos.
