If you’ve ever looked at the ocean and thought, “Needs more destruction,” Hungry Shark World is here to chew through your expectations, and everything else. This absurdly over-the-top sequel to Hungry Shark Evolution ditches subtlety in favor of rocket-powered feeding frenzies, dolphin-crunching combos, and sharks wearing sunglasses. It rules.

Starting as a lowly guppy with attitude, you’ll chomp your way up an aquatic food chain through sprawling maps like the glittery South China Sea or the frozen Arctic. Each ocean is packed with tasty targets and even tastier chaos, human swimmers, submarines, whales, jellyfish, and unfortunate paragliders included. It’s Subnautica if you replaced dread with dad jokes and gave the Leviathan a Red Bull addiction.

The mechanics are arcade-simple: bite, boost, repeat. But once you unlock jetpacks, lasers, and sharks the size of small yachts, it becomes less about survival and more about spectacle. Pet eagles divebomb enemies while your neon-skinned Megalodon surfs foam waves of destruction. Every moment is a power trip with fins.

And while the console versions ditch microtransactions, the mobile game still has bite-sized missions, collectible letters, and unlockable sharks stacked in eight size tiers. New areas require new apex predators, which keeps the loop tight and progression satisfying.

Sure, the missions can occasionally drag and the humor sometimes flops like a beached fish, but when you’re breakdancing in midair while eating a helicopter, it’s hard to complain. Hungry Shark World isn’t deep. It’s fast, loud, and hungry. Just like you will be after five minutes with it.
