LEGO DC Mighty Micros is a fast, silly, and surprisingly charming racing game that mashes the DC universe into a pint-sized kart-racer. Think Mario Kart, but if every driver had a blocky head, cartoon physics, and an outrageous vehicle pulled straight from a Saturday morning cartoon.

The core gameplay is simple: pick a hero or villain, Batman, Superman, Catwoman, The Joker, and barrel through colorful tracks in pursuit or escape, depending on the mission. The opening scene? Catwoman pulls off a LEGO-style heist, and you’re immediately thrown into chase mode. From there, it’s drift, boost, jump, and repeat.

Controls are delightfully basic, tap to turn, swipe to jump, and while this won’t satisfy hardcore racers, it makes the game accessible for just about anyone. Kids will love the chaos. Adults might appreciate the comedic touches: exaggerated voiceovers, ridiculous animations, and LEGO’s signature slapstick humor. Every character has their own themed ride, and the customization options (though limited) add a bit of flair.

There are a few curveballs, too. The occasional mini-game, like flying Batman’s plane through rings or watching cinematic cutscenes in the “cinema mode,” breaks up the monotony. They don’t add deep gameplay, but they do help keep things feeling light and varied, at least for a while.

Visually, it’s pure LEGO charm. Bright colors, bouncy environments, and expressive little figures yelling nonsense as they fly off jumps. The menus are clean and easy to navigate, which matters more when your core audience probably hasn’t mastered long attention spans yet.

That said, LEGO DC Mighty Micros doesn’t evolve much. Races start to feel the same after a dozen runs, and older players will probably burn through the content in an afternoon. There’s no real challenge or strategic depth.

Still, if you’re in the mood for low-stakes superhero shenanigans with familiar faces and some LEGO chaos, this is a fun pit stop. It’s not Asphalt 9 or Crash Team Racing, but it doesn’t want to be. It’s goofy, it’s cheerful, and it knows exactly who it’s for.
