Monster Train

Hell has frozen over, literally, and it’s your job to stoke the last burning pyre by stuffing your train full of demons, wax zombies, plant tanks, and sentient morsels, then sending it barreling straight into the face of Heaven’s holy hit squad. Monster Train is what happens when you take Slay the Spire, pump it full of infernal steroids, and stack it across three vertical battlefields.

It sounds chaotic because it is, gloriously so.

Every run starts with a choice of two out of five wildly unique clans, each with their own twisted mechanics. Maybe you’ll combine the rage-fueled Hellhorned with the plant-based Awoken for a deck that punches hard and heals harder. Or maybe you’ll jam wax revenants from the Melting Remnant together with Umbra’s gluttonous morsel mechanics to build a death loop so busted it should be illegal. That combo potential? Absurd. And it only expands the more you play.

The strategy goes deeper than card combos. Positioning matters. Floor space is limited. Enemies move up every turn, and if they reach your Pyre, it’s toast. Literally. Each floor becomes a puzzle of unit placement, attack timing, and modifier exploitation. Add on randomized upgrades, relics that warp your strategy from the get-go, and bosses that shift tactics mid-fight, and you’ve got a system that constantly demands, and rewards, adaptation.

There’s no fluff here. No wasted turns. Just brutal, brilliant tactics and a runaway train’s worth of replayability.
