Dropping out of a helicopter with dreams of digital glory isn’t exactly new. But doing it in ScarFall, India’s scrappy but ambitious homegrown battle royale, feels like stepping into a PUBG fever dream where the rules bend just enough to keep things interesting.

Developed by XSQUADS Tech LLP in Surat, ScarFall supports up to 48 players across shrinking arenas filled with loot, danger, and, sometimes, teammates who keep dying in the first five minutes. It splits its chaos across three main modes: Classic (three lives, big map, manageable panic), Survival (one life, full tilt stress), and Team Death Match (pure PvP adrenaline on tight, randomized maps). For a quick fix, there’s Arcade mode with fast-paced 4v4 shootouts on compact battlegrounds like Snowdusts and Boneyard.

You start in the sky, piloting your own chopper, a flex most battle royales don’t offer. From there, it’s the usual scavenging of weapons, health kits, and suspiciously abandoned vehicles in villages, caves, and forests. As the safe zone shrinks and bodies hit the floor, strategy gives way to desperation, and that’s when ScarFall shines.

Sure, it doesn’t reinvent the genre. Its characters are generic, and it’s not about to dethrone Fortnite anytime soon. But what ScarFall does offer is a no-nonsense, reliable multiplayer shooter tailored for Indian players, complete with offline functionality and enough maps to keep you guessing.

Is it perfect? No. But if you want bite-sized BR action that won’t drain your data plan, ScarFall is worth strapping in for. Just don’t forget to check your corners, and maybe revive your buddy before looting his corpse.
