Westland Survival

Westland Survival is basically Last Day on Earth with a cowboy hat, and I mean that in the best possible way. It’s a gritty survival RPG set in a Wild West universe where you build your ranch, tame animals, and blast through bandit hideouts like a seasoned gunslinger.

You start off with a pistol, a half-burned ranch, and a whole lot of revenge on your mind. From there, it’s the usual survival loop: gather pine logs, mine stone, craft workbenches, and slowly turn your busted shack into something that could maybe survive a full-on raid. Eventually, you unlock a stable, tame a horse, and get access to faster travel and heavier loot hauls.

Combat is real-time and surprisingly tactical. Guns feel punchy, but ammo’s scarce, so you end up relying on crafted melee weapons like spears and clubs, especially in early zones. Smart players save their guns for real threats, like bandits or tougher bounty missions.

Where Westland stands out is in its layered progression. Each gear tier, copper, iron, steel, opens new possibilities. But it’s slow. Some players spend weeks in one tier before moving on. And it works. You feel every upgrade. That double-barreled pistol you finally craft after days of grinding? Feels earned.

The story’s decent too. You meet quirky NPCs like your sister Molly or Rick the town protector, and there’s a full bounty system that lets you chase outlaws across the map. Add in timed events, a working ranch system, and limited PvP features, and there’s always something pulling you forward.

Of course, it’s not all smooth riding. The energy system limits how often you can travel quickly, unless you wait… or pay. And storage becomes a mess fast, you’ll be crafting boxes like a warehouse manager. But that’s part of the genre at this point.

Westland Survival is one of those rare survival games that doesn’t hold your hand, but doesn’t shove you off a cliff either. If you’re tired of zombies and want a bit more cowboy in your crafting grind, this is an easy recommendation. Just don’t waste your last bullet on a fox.
